Shelby Is Introducing Continuations of 2 Classic Cars

replicaIf you're a fan of Shelby cars, then you're in luck. Two of Shelby's classics are making a comeback: the 1960s-spec Mustang and the Series 1 sports car. These two models are being reborn once more, but in limited numbers.

There will be 10 continuations of the 1967 GT500 Super Snake. As one of the best-looking Mustangs ever, automakers are going the extra mile to make the replicas even more authentic. They're taking original 1967 Mustang bodies to build the new cars on. They'll even be built with official Shelby VINs.

The Super Snake was part of a limited production run. It features front disc brakes, limited slip differential, and a stiffer suspension that made for an awesome ride but a high price tag. But that didn't stop Carroll Shelby himself from taking the car for a test run and reaching an impressive 170 mph. This top speed was close to the AC Cobra Coupe that reached 186 mph on a British Motorway a few years earlier in 1964.

And as for the new Series 1 sports cars -- to be titled Series 2 -- they're set to be a lot more powerful than the originals. With a modern suspension, twice the power of the original Series 1, and being 12% lighter, these new cars have certainly been decked out appropriately. With its V8, these cars will be sending 800bhp to the rear wheels.

With the price of the Super Snakes set to start at $250,000, you may find your hopes of owning one of these classic cars left in the dust. But fortunately, you can have your very own custom roadster with the help of a replica kit.

You can be the proud owner of your very own Shelby Cobra by using a Cobra replica kit. A Shelby Cobra kit car can give you the thrill of owning one of the most famous muscle cars in history, without the high price tag. Unfortunately, not all of us can afford to drop a few grand on our dream car. But by using a replica kit, you'll get the opportunity to not only own your dream car, but you'll be able to build it yourself.

So while you may not be able to get your hands on one of the new continuations, you'll still be able to own your own custom roadster.
